No one does planning of sales promotions better than the big box retail industry. They buy and lock down Christmas designs and offers by July 4th.
Most of us cannot plan this far out for our businesses but three months? Three months we can handle. And if you really follow this kind of planning, it really will help you create a strong offer and line your pretty ducks in a row in a less crazed fashion because you’ve allowed yourself some time to think about it.
I’ve developed two goodies in one today. First, my at-a-glance infographic on major holidays, sporting events and selling seasons of the year, specifically reflecting 2016 dates.
Second, I’ve put together a one pager for you to plan out your sales offer for the year. I’ve also included a sample of what I’m thinking I’ll do. I’ve used the title of the campaign but you may want to do “Winter gear: 20% off” or “New Members push” or “Storewide BOGO”.” something that works for your team.
While there are pages and details beyond this simple one-sheet, I love have one sheet to see everything at a glance. I’ve got a wall of clipboards and items like these are a quick scan for my eyes to remember the bigger picture items of the day.
Alright, onto the goodies!
